Terms of service

The terms you agree to when you book with us. Last updated 4 October 2026.

Plain English, and short. If anything here is unclear, ask before you book — we would rather explain it than have you find out later.

01

Who you are contracting with

These terms are between you and 1Driving.

Business status and company registration details: to be confirmed.

Booking a lesson, a course or test car hire with us means you accept these terms.

02

What we provide — and what we do not

Driving tuition. The one thing people most often expect that we do not do is in the second paragraph.

We provide driving lessons, intensive courses, refresher lessons, mock tests and dual-control car hire for your test, taught by DVSA-approved instructors.

We do not book driving tests on your behalf, and we do not sell fast-track test booking. You book your own test through GOV.UK. What we do is get you ready quickly enough to take a slot when one appears. Anyone offering to obtain a test date for a fee is using methods that can get your test cancelled and your licence application flagged — we will not do it.

Lessons are two hours as standard. Your instructor is matched to your area and your transmission; we will tell you who before you start.

03

Prices and payment

What is fixed, what varies, and what is included.

Intensive course prices are shown on the intensive courses page. Prices vary by area — the plan you build on this site confirms the price for yours, and that is the figure that applies.

The car on test day is included in every intensive package.

Course length is set by a two-hour assessment, not by a guess over the phone. If the assessment shows you need fewer hours than you expected, we will say so.

Payment schedule and deposit terms: to be confirmed. Ask when you book and we will confirm in writing before you pay anything.

04

Changing or cancelling a lesson

Life happens. Tell us as early as you can and we will work with you.

Our notice period, late-cancellation charge and refund policy are being finalised and will be stated here. Until they are, we will confirm them to you in writing before you book, and we will not charge you anything you have not been told about first.

If we have to cancel — illness, a vehicle problem, weather that makes a lesson unsafe — you will be offered the next available slot or a full refund for that lesson. That applies regardless of the terms above.

05

What we need from you

Four things, all of them legal requirements rather than our preferences.

Bring a valid UK provisional or full driving licence to every lesson. We cannot teach you without it and your instructor will not start the lesson.

You must meet the DVSA eyesight standard — reading a number plate at 20 metres, with glasses or lenses if you wear them.

You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription medication that affects your driving. Tell your instructor if you are unsure; a lesson ended on these grounds is charged as taken.

Tell us about any medical condition you are required to declare to the DVLA. It does not usually stop you learning, but we need to know.

06

Insurance and liability

Our cars are insured for tuition. Some things we cannot be responsible for.

Our vehicles are fully insured for driving tuition and maintained to the standard that requires. You are covered while driving under instruction in one of our cars.

We cannot be held responsible for a test being cancelled or rescheduled by the DVSA, for the outcome of your test, or for any loss that follows from either. We will prepare you as well as we can; passing is not something anybody can guarantee, and you should treat any school that does guarantee it with suspicion.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

07

Complaints, privacy and the law

How to raise something, and which law applies.

If something has gone wrong, email 1drivinglondon@gmail.com or call 07950 994411. We will acknowledge it within two working days. Complaints about an instructor’s conduct can also be made to the DVSA.

How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.
